D2 Summit Crossover Rules 2022
The USASF recently announced new proposed rules that would apply from the 2022-2023 season. The USASF is strengthening its safety rules and policies through the qualification of coaches to ensure that cheer coaches are able to teach the appropriate skills, and the certification of safety judges, which provides safety judges with the knowledge and resources necessary to enforce safety rules during competition. Hundreds of teams have joined us this season for their chance to climb together at the 2021 D2 Summit Championship. The rules would affect teams at multiple levels and are big changes for some divisions! You could even remove some divisions from the Worlds. USASF rules, divisions and categories create a safe, consistent and fair platform for cheer and dance athletes at celebrity events and practices. Security, followed by skills development and fair play, is a top priority when establishing or adjusting rules or policies. The USASF also establishes guidelines for best practices in All Star areas that are not directly related to safety rules, but are important to the integrity of the sport. It is not guaranteed that these proposals will become new rules, but provide ideas and discussions on the development of cheerleading in the future.
I don`t think it`s fair to allow a real D1 gym to choose locations for D2. As a D2 gym, it`s not fair if they can attract athletes from other places. Real D2 gyms don`t have the same advantage and I think that`s completely unfair. If they allow it, there should be no transitions from other places. All athletes participating in a D2 Summit 2022 team must be registered members of that team`s program during the 2021-2022 competition season. Any athlete who follows the 1. January 2022 shows or competes with a team at any level of a program (main program) on the field, must have a Varsity Spirit program release waiver signed by the main program owner before that athlete is eligible to participate in another program at the 2022 D2 Summit Championships. Remember that these are just suggestions, not final rules! This video shows the important changes to the age grid and rules coming to Cheer in 2022-2023. Owners and coaches of the gym, click below to find all the information about the 2022 championship Reason: The International Open 6 division can have exactly the same team.
Senior Open 6 was created due to uncertainties about where the IASF led with the score, rules, etc. The year of birth must match the grade of the school so that the teams are closer in age. Primary school-age children should not be part of a team with secondary school-age children. This happens in some teams. Level 3 Pyramids: Allow undistorted/non-inverted release movements on Extended when connected to a preparation-level bracer or lower. This means possible changes in the age grid, as the USASF age grid is not calculated in the same way as that of the ICU and IASF. While I agree with your comment to some extent, the comment on college age equalization is what happens if a college-aged child does not go to university? Or without an enthusiastic team or club? And shouldn`t ALL children focus on other things, including work? Is there an age at which a person should stop exercising? Health and well-being should be at the forefront all the time, regardless of age. Organized sports help people of all ages with a variety of things. Eliminating them for some is a mistake. Level 6 Stunts: Allow rewinds in Senior 6 with the same restrictions as in International 6.

Tucks are currently only allowed in tumbling. We`ve listed all the proposed changes (here`s a link to the official statement) so you can read which rule changes would affect your team. Current rule: No tumbling in front of the fronttuck is allowed. Reason: To be carried out safely in international divisions. Level 1: Allow a forward or backward throw immediately after a turn. (Current rule: must be performed in the fallback position). (Current rule: up to 1 flip and 0 twist allowed). Some suggestions for discussions on “D1” and “D2” gyms. Reasoning – This would help compensate for divisions in the worlds. Currently, the senior has 4 teams and the smallest has about 50.
This change would essentially consolidate the current medium and large teams into a single division and create better competition. Small and very small teams would complement the new medium and small divisions. We applauded in 2 VERY large D1 gyms, each with multiple locations. Athletes from both gyms are only allowed to cheer on 1 location and can only try at one location. While we are all separate from our parent organization, each location acts as its own gym and cannot “trade athletes.” What do you think of these proposals? Comment on our social media platforms or vote in this short survey: Completing the Varsity Spirit Program Release Waiver is a mandatory process between elementary and secondary program owners. In the event that an official protest is filed and the official waiver of the release of the program has not been signed, or if the secondary program is unable to present one to a university officer as physical evidence, the secondary program will not be eligible or will be disqualified depending on the time of the official protest. All exemptions for the Varsity Spirit program must be submitted to your official list of USASF events at the D2 Summit. (Current rule: Skills must include constant physical contact with the execution interface) Standing hand springs are not allowed.
(Current rule: Standard front/rear springs are not allowed). “The USASF age grid is calculated by year of birth. The age grids of the intensive care unit and the IASF are calculated based on the age of the competition at the end of the year. Should they be aligned? Reasoning: Allows athletes to stagger back. Learn more about D2 divisions here: What is the D2 Summit? Here`s all the information you need and athletes usually stop playing after graduating from college unless they decide to turn professional. Current rule: Not allowed in the senior division, only International 6. Current rule: requires 2 bracelets at the level of preparation or lower. Well, yes, I like it, but I don`t really like it either.
It would be new and let`s say you went against another team and they do something that is added, but you go against it as someone who makes rolls forward. Reasoning: Level 4 can connect bounding Flips, then level 6 can combine Bounding abilities with Double Twisting. Adjust the progress. Do not resize Senior Large 6. Size is the spectacle. Do not break what is not broken!!! Although it was the USASF that announced the proposals, they did not come directly from the organization. It is the members of the USASF who can make proposals. This may include, for example, gym owners, coaches and choreographers. Reasoning: First level that you are able to fall from a flip, flip/flip is not a good progression.
